A ribbon cutting will be held on Tuesday, August 26, at 8:30 a.m. for the turnaround bridges at IH-35 and SH 29 on the southbound turnaround bridge.

Williamson County opened its newest Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station Medic 43 in Hutto on Friday, August 15, 2008. The new station is located in the new John H. Coats Fire Station Number 1 at 501 Exchange Blvd.

On Tuesday, the Commissioners Court approved a budget of $118,056,152. County Auditor David Flores informed the court last week that the budget can be funded at the proposed effective tax rate of $0.4683 per $100 assessed valuation. That rate is two cents lower than the current rate. The court will vote to adopt the tax rate on August 26.
